TITLE: Bee Child. GENRE: Free Verse. CRITIQUE: Yes. STATUS: Complete. SUMMARY: We wrote these in school - based on The Secret Life of Bees character, Lily Owens. OTHER: So-so.
Bee Child Lily. Daughter of accidental death and pain. Beekeeper, author, motherless child. Who loves Coca-Cola and salted peanuts,
Writing and Rosaleen. Who needs a mother like a lamb needs milk, Her sisters in the bees,
Who gives love to those who can't receive it, Lies to those who won't believe it, Pain to those who can't relieve it. Who fears her shameful past, Joy and dreams that won't last, And time for the truth, which vanishes fast. Lily Melissa Owens.

Oh! I adore these kinds of poems. Biopoems, right? Hm, maybe we need a sub-board for these, too...
Anyway, nice work. I haven't read The Secret Life of Bees, unfortunately, but this Lily Owens sounds interesting.
